The Holy Trinity (2)

Hebrew scholars tell us there are three numbers in the Hebrew language: Singular, one; dual, ywo; plural, more than two. The word translated “God” in Genesis 1 verse 1 is plural, indicating more than two. The Hebrew word here is Elohim. Matthew Henry says it signifies: “the plurality of persons in the Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. This plural name of God….(confirms) our faith in the doctrine of the Trinity, which, though but darkly intimated in the Old Testament, is clearly revealed in the New.”
